Heather Merklinger is a Manager of the Firm.  She has been practicing public accounting for over 15 years with extensive experience in performing and managing audits, reviews, and compilations.

Heather services clients in the manufacturing, distribution, franchise, technology, restaurant, and real estate industries.  Heather offers guidance to her clients on new accounting updates affecting their business, in addition to complex accounting issues to ensure the financial statements are complete and accurate.

She also has extensive experience in auditing 401(k) plans where she provides the type of understanding that is unique to the regulatory and reporting requirements for these types of employee benefit plan audits.

Heather serves on Smolin’s Accounting and Auditing Committee.  Heather is a member of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce (“EMACC”)  Women in Business Committee.

Heather is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  She practices out of our Red Bank office and resides in Middletown, New Jersey with her family.
