Smolin Lupin Accountant Shows His Boss His Other Job

szcomak_robertsonAt a recent “Boss Lift Day,” Member of the Firm John Szczomak got a glimpse at what Staff Accountant Brett Robertson does at his “other job.”

Szczomak participated in the event where approximately 60 civilian employers departed from McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey and flew to Fort Drum in New York. There, they witnessed New Jersey Army National Guard soldiers undergoing their annual training.

Robertson is company commander of the A Company 2-113th Infantry in Newark, N.J. and served a tour in Iraq from 2008 to 2009.

Robertson’s “no-nonsense” attitude and maturity are evident both in and out of the office, Szczomak said.

“It is apparent his leadership skills at Smolin Lupin are a result of his military training,” he added. “It was amazing seeing the hard work and dedication that Brett has outside of his day-to-day responsibilities with us, and the training that he puts in while working to preserve our liberty.”

Employers arrived at McGuire Air Force Base at 6 a.m. for a safety briefing. They then had a flight and refueling mission to Fort Drum. Once there, the group observed training objectives of the New Jersey Army Reserve National Guard 50th Brigade Combat Team, including live mortar fire and exercises in home entry.
