High School Students Get Inside Scoop About One of Today’s Best Career Opportunities - Accounting
During the last several years, as career opportunities for Certified Public Accountants have expanded dramatically, accounting has become one of the fastest growing majors in American colleges and universities. That's what students at Wayne Valley High School discovered on Tuesday, Nov. 15, when Supervisor Noorus Khan, CPA, and Director of Human Capital Rachel Anevski, visited to discuss the exciting, well-paying career opportunities that are available to students who study accounting.
Khan and Anevski spoke to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in accounting classes about opportunities in the field of accounting, available scholarships and the requirements needed to become a CPA.
"It was a great experience to be able to meet and educate young students about an exciting career in accounting," said Khan, who was recently selected as one of New Jersey Society of CPAs' (NJSCPA) "30 Most Influential CPAs Under Age 30." "I'm a graduate of Wayne Valley, so it was great to be able to give back to my high school and interact with the students."
